We went to a lecture on Norway that was very informative, but he reminded us of a high school history class as he went on and on in a slow monotone. We finally had to leave as we were afraid one of us might snore.
We met a lovely couple from Sweden who were originally from Indiana. They went to Sweden for a temporary job in environmental science and have now been there 30 years. They were a delight and full of advice for us. They are Myra and Louie with a retirement business which is kind of a hobby with a website of www.pumpkinpatch.se
The most exciting event of the day was a medical evacuation. They had to clear the top decks while a helicopter came in to lift the patient out and get them to a hospital. The helicopter hovered right outside of our room. All went very well and we were told at our evening show that the patient was fine and expected to make a full recovery.
The skies cleared and we relaxed on our balcony, which is blocked from the wind. It was Heaven!
We learned from announcements that the largest group of people on the ship are the 900 from Denmark with the United States having 127, Australians 124 and many other countries with smaller numbers.
We went to formal night, attended the evening show of Bee Gee Impersonators and were in bed by 10:00. It was not the most exciting day, but it was one with a much needed, relaxing pace.
Great reading - keep them coming....John & Princess Mary
